How to Keep the Correct Posture During the Golf Swing?

Hi this is Jeff Crittenden, I am a current teaching pro. I am a PGA member, I just won the 2017 world long drive master’s division, with a 383 yard drive.

So we are going to talk about in-swing posture. What in-swing posture is when you set up in your golf posture you are going to stay in that golf posture to swing. I am not big on swing training aids, but today I know everyone has one of these, we are going to use your golf bag as a training aid.

So when you setup and what I see is when you setup to swing, people will swing and come out of posture. What that will do is lead to more tension in your swing, face is very hard to control down at impact. A good drill to do is to get your golf bag, setup so you can feel it back here. I am then going to turn in my backswing, I am going to turn to hit it and I still feel it in my back. So on, on, and then after my swing I come up off. What I see a lot of people doing is they get here, and they move this way and try and hit it. Very hard to repeat that golf swing if you’re doing that. Training aid, golf bag, lean it up against you swing back keep it touching your back hip. Turn your left hip and then come up off. If you try it, I guarantee you will lower your handicap! Thank you.

Sincerely,
